Privacy Policy

The Short Version
LMNOP is designed to collect as little personal information as possible and to keep your homeschool records private. We use artificial intelligence (AI) to help you organize your day, but you remain in total control of the final plan. We intentionally structure the app around limited student identifiers, local record storage, and privacy-conscious defaults.
What LMNOP stores
LMNOP stores core homeschool records so families can plan the day, track progress, and generate documentation.
- Profiles: student initials, grade band, and teacher or student context you choose to enter.
- Plans and progress: generated schedules, completion state, notes, and archived work evidence.
- Portfolio outputs: PDF reports and shareable daily highlight images created through the app.
- Calendar selections: if you enable calendar sync, the app stores which calendars you have chosen to use for scheduling.
How AI-powered features work
LMNOP uses Large Language Models (LLMs) provided by OpenAI to power features such as plan generation, activity suggestions, and the Teaching Assistant.
When you use these features, you are interacting with an automated system. The content needed to generate a result is processed by OpenAI. Depending on the feature, this may include:
- Images of worksheets or assignments you selected,
- Teacher and student context you entered,
- State standards context,
- Today’s plan and progress data, and
- Messages you send to the in-app Teaching Assistant.
Note: Data sent to our AI providers via their API is generally not used to train their public models, but is processed to provide the service and filtered for safety compliance.
AI Transparency & Accountability
LMNOP is committed to the responsible use of AI in education. Please be aware of the following:
- Automated Interaction: The Teaching Assistant is an AI, not a human. All advice and instructions are generated algorithmically.
- Accuracy: AI can "hallucinate" or produce inaccurate educational content and scheduling logic. You should not rely on the AI for factual accuracy without verification.
- Human-in-the-Loop: LMNOP does not perform "automated decision-making" that has legal or significant effects on a student. The parent or educator must review, edit, and approve all generated plans before implementation.
Photos and uploaded content
Photos and evidence you add in LMNOP are used to help generate plans, document work, and create reports. We use on-device preprocessing to strip metadata (like GPS location) from images before they are uploaded to AI services to further protect your family's privacy.
Calendar access
If you enable calendar sync, LMNOP requests access to your Apple Calendar so selected events can be used as fixed anchors in your daily schedule. You control which calendars are included.
Children's privacy
LMNOP is intended for use by parents, guardians, and educators, not by children directly. We encourage families to use initials or similarly limited identifiers for students wherever possible to minimize the collection of Children’s Personal Information.
Third-party processing
Beyond AI services, LMNOP may use third-party providers for necessary app functions like subscription management (RevenueCat) and backend infrastructure (Firebase). These providers are only permitted to use your data to perform these specific tasks on our behalf.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as LMNOP evolves. If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
